Vee Speers is an Australian photographer based in Paris. After she studied at Queensland College of Art, she worked as stills photographer for ABC television. She took a collection of photos called "Birthday Party"
In the images the eye is focused on the objects the models are holding. The image with the girl with the balloon focuses on the curves of the dress and how her is round. The young girl with the bird sitting on her hand look plain drawing your eye towards the bird and nothing else.
The backgrounds are quite dull which makes you look at the model and the object they are holding, the lighting is shone on only the models. The young girl with leaves on her back show a lot of detail and focus on them and nothing else.
I like the way Vee Speers presents them, she doesn't use too many bold colours. She uses objects to represent the mood and how the models are feeling. I like the themes she uses to create a effect. Some seem more real than others. Another thing I like is the is the simplicity of the background because it doesn't detract you in any way.
